Documentary Seeks Women Who Have Experienced Discrimination in Sport

A new documentary project currently in development for Ireland's TG4 is seeking to hear from women who have experienced discrimination while participating in sport.

Produced by Dearcán Media, the documentary aims to explore the realities women have faced across a wide range of sporting environments - from barriers to participation and unequal opportunities, to cultural attitudes and personal experiences that have shaped their journeys.

Importantly, the project is not limited to one discipline or organisation. While the opportunity has been shared through Eventing Ireland, the documentary is seeking perspectives from women involved in all sports, both past and present.

Whether your experiences happened decades ago or are more recent, the production team would like to hear from women willing to share their stories.

The documentary is being produced for TG4, so Irish speakers are especially encouraged to get involved, though speaking Irish is not essential.

Filming is expected to take place before July, and all conversations will be handled in the strictest confidence.

We know how powerful it can be when women feel heard, and how important honest conversations remain in shaping safer, fairer sporting environments for the next generation.
