Soundness, Performance & Rider Balance — Live with Jen Hyland
Join us this Friday, 8th May at 7.00pm for a special Equitas livestream with Muireann and guest speaker Jen Hyland, founder of Full Spectrum Equine.
Jen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from across the equestrian industry, combining high-level competition experience with an extensive background in equine science, veterinary physiotherapy and rider education.
Based between Ireland and the UK, Jen works as an equine physiotherapist, having studied Equine Science and Veterinary Physiotherapy. Before moving fully into physiotherapy, she successfully ran a competition and schooling yard, producing young horses and competing up to three-star eventing, Grand Prix show-jumping and PSG dressage — all with what she describes as “the same legend of a horse”.
Alongside her clinical and competitive work, Jen spent seven years teaching in the Irish Farrier School, covering subjects including conformation, gait analysis, lameness assessment and foot balance. Her approach is deeply rooted in understanding the horse as a whole, with a strong focus on movement, biomechanics and long-term soundness.
Most recently, Jen completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training and is now exploring ways to bring yoga for riders into her work. She believes there is significant overlap between rider movement, balance, body awareness and the principles she applies every day in equine physiotherapy.
This promises to be a fascinating conversation covering horse performance, rehabilitation, rider biomechanics and the connection between horse and rider wellbeing.
Tune in live this Friday at 7.00pm and join the discussion.
